On the second of February of each year, the world celebrates the World Wetlands Day (WWD) with the aim of raising awareness of the great importance that wetlands represent in human life and their vital functions for the planet.“Wetlands and water”, the theme for WWD 2021, shines a spotlight on wetlands as a source of freshwater and encourages actions to restore them and stop their loss.
