Al Zeyoudi: “Mawroothna” is an expression of our sincere gratitude and appreciation to our farmers and fishermen H.E Dr. Thani Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Climate Change and Environment, announced that the “Mawroothna” initiative, a privilege card with the aim of supporting UAE citizens who work in the fields of agriculture and fishing, has so far attracted nearly 90 companies from the private sector.
In his opening remarks during an official reception held by the ministry yesterday and attended by representatives of the participating companies and media outlets, Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi said: “In line with the government’s directions towards achieving happiness and positivity as a way of life and promoting community happiness, the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment has launched the “Mawroothna Card” community initiative to offer unique privileges to UAE citizens working in the professions of fishing and agriculture.”
“Through partnerships with various organizations, the initiative aims to promote fishing and agriculture as a profession within local communities, as they are a central part of UAE heritage, by offering a range of exceptional discounts and promotions, facilitate all their fishing and agriculture requirements and provide them with the highest levels of services to meet their different needs and requirements,” Al Zeyoudi explained.
The Minister expressed his deepest appreciation for farmers and fishermen in their efforts to conserve these traditional occupations, which play a pivotal role in preserving food diversity and supporting UAE national economy.
Dr. Al Zeyoudi indicated that the Mawroothna initiative has received remarkable attention from several national institutions, reflecting their keenness to support the partnership between public and private sectors and the growing social responsibility of UAE national companies. “This fact inspires MOCCAE to launch more community initiatives in partnership with the private sector,” he said.
H.E. stressed that the ministry greatly values the role of the private sector in achieving UAE’s goals of sustainable development and UAE Vision 2021, expressing his aspiration to strengthen the existing partnerships with the private sector in all relevant fields and to establish more partnerships in new areas.
It’s noteworthy that MOCCAE will start distributing “Mawroothna Card” on 15032 farmer and 9105 fisherman registered with the ministry to avail a range of exceptional discounts, promotions and rewards at specific outlets. The first stage of the initiative has witnessed the participation of nearly 90 companies from various sectors, including Agriculture, Boats & Fishing Equipment, Hospitality, Health Care, Furniture, Real Estate, General Trading and Automotive.
