Event to be held under the theme ‘Sustainable Buildings’ 7th ‘Forum for Best Practices in the Field of Municipal Work’ kicks off on December 10

H.E. Dr. Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahad, Minister of Environment and Water, and directors from various local municipalities will grace the opening of the ‘Forum for Best Practices in the Field of Municipal Work’ on December 16, 2015, with the participation of delegates from 15 main and sub-municipalities and more than 150 specialists involved in municipal work. To be held under the theme ‘Sustainable Buildings,’ the forum hosted by Ras Al Khaimah Municipality is being organized by the Ministry of Environment and Water’s Coordination of Municipal Affairs Office in cooperation with the forum’s committee.

The annual event provides an important venue for officials and teams of municipality specialists involved in environmental affairs and sustainable buildings to exchange views, experiences and best practices. Such discussions generate a dramatic impact on the path towards integrated municipalities and effective coordination among relevant authorities. In addition, it paves the way for the development of government partnerships and information exchange mechanisms.

This year’s forum will discuss a myriad of key issues affecting municipal affairs in the country. The topics include sustainable building strategies and best practices, future researches and studies, and ‘green’ specifications and standards.

An exhibition will be held simultaneously to highlight the best practices in sustainable buildings. Public institutions, private companies, and engineering colleges and universities are the expected participants.
