MOEW and Emirates Transport Sign MoU Aiming to Serve the Community and Raise Awareness Among Individuals

The Ministry of Environment and Water signed a memorandum of understanding with Emirates Transportation at the Ministry Headquarters in Dubai on Wednesday. The MoU aims to develop general principles and conditions to establish cooperation in the community service, and to promote awareness among individuals, by developing awarenesscampaigns to spread the values of environmental safety.

The MoU was signed by Her Excellency Dr. Mariam Al Shenasi, the Assistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs at the Ministry, and by His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Jarman, the Director General of Emirates Transport, at the presence of some officials from both parties.By implementing the MoU, both parties will seek the integration of efforts and exchange of experiences, studies and research. In addition of ensuring a better performance in community service, and enhancing environmental security in the context of closer mutual obligations between the two parties.

Her Excellency Dr. Mariam Al Shenasi said that the MoU includes several terms to introduce awareness programs into schools, to consolidate the values ​​of environmental safety in regards to road and transportation related fields. H.E. Dr. Al Shenasi added that there will be a joint committee formed between the two parties, which are required to meet periodically to undertake the task of coordination and sustain the links communication. In the goal of, maintaining the exchange of relevant institutional experiences, in order to spread awareness of environmental and transportation laws, by organizing relevant courses and workshops.

From his part, His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Jarman has emphasized on strengthening the strategic partnerships with governmental entities, including ministries, agencies, and institutions to support the UAE doctrine. His Excellency's emphasis focused in the field of sustainable environment development, consolidating the green economy concepts, and spreading the green culture among community members. According to H.E. Mr. Al Jarman, that this MoU will add quality to the application of the UAE Strategy for Green Development, by linking both parties with their strategic objectives. through joint work in terms of energy saving, effective adoption of green applications, and green buildings.
