Located on the Sharjah Al Dhaid Road, Al Mentether Protected Area is a 9.4 square kilometer protected area. Known for its greenery, this is the best place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and discover a pristine desert eco-system.
The reserve is also home to Gray Francolin, and chestnut-bellied sandgrouses, some reptiles and rodents. Classified as a ‘greenbelt’, there are nearly a million ghaf and acacia trees—foliage that is uniquely suited to grow in the arid, desert climate of the Arabian Gulf.
