Service Description

Through this service, a permit is issued to export a consignment of local aquatic products out of the UAE. This includes local wild fish, fish produced in aquaculture farms in the UAE, crustaceans, molluscs, and other aquatic organisms. (Valid for 1 month from the permit issuance date)

  • Packing declaration which lists the type and quantity of aquatic organisms’ products intended for export

For air and marine shipments, the following document is required:

  • Packaging certificate issued from a fish processing factory which lists the consignment information such as aquatic products type and quantity

Terms and Conditions


  1. The establishment must have a license to practice an activity related to the aquatic life sector that includes the activity: exporting local aquatic life products
  2. The export of local fish is permitted from 1 November of each year to 30 April of the following year, with the exceptions of dried and salted fish, which are allowed to be exported throughout the year.
  3. The export of king soldier bream (Argyrops spinifer) and goldlined seabream (Rhabdosrgus sarba)  is prohibited from 1 February to 28 February of each year.
  4. The export of Sharks that are caught in the fishing waters of the UAE may be exported, whether fresh, frozen, dried, salted or smoked, throughout the year.
  5. The export of sharks listed in Ministerial Decree 43 of the year 2019 is prohibited. (https://www.moccae.gov.ae/assets/download/2022/3a4c74dd.pdf.aspx)

  7. Aquaculture farms are permitted to export their products  from the same farms throughout the year after having a license to practice an activity related to the aquatic life sector which includes the activity of exporting local aquatic life products
