Service Description

Through this service, an import permit is obtained for approving import of: •Manufactured animal feed •Feed additions •Nutritional supplements •Pet animal food •Food for animals not included in the food chain •Foods and nutritional supplements for honeybees •Processed aquatic food •Unprocessed aquatic food Valid for 30 days from the date of issue and then those consignments will be checked upon arrival to the State at the port of entry and release and to ensure that it comply with all import conditions and specifications

Service Procedures

To apply for a service over any of the service channels, you should register in the digital services system From here

To obtain import permission:

  1. Fill out the electronic form
  2. E - Payment
  3. Issuing the import Permit electronically

To release the consignment:

  1. Fill out the electronic form
  2. E - Payment
  3. Review the application and complete the procedures electronically
  4. Clinical examination and laboratory tests (if required)
  5. Issuing the release Permit electronically

Service Fees

100 AED for request for permission to import the consignment of animal feed and food
500 AED for request to release the consignment of animal feed and food

Required Documents

Import:

  • No documents required

Release:

  • Certificate of origin approved and issued by the competent authority
  • A customs declaration or bill of lading indicating the consignment data
  • Purchase bill
  • certificate of analysis for each batch
  •  In the case of unprocessed aquatic food / animals feed not included in the food chain the consignment shall be accompanied with a veterinary health certificate instead of certificate of analysis

Terms and Conditions

To import manufactured animal feed, feed additives, and nutritional supplements

  1. The establishment must have a license to practice an animal activity that contains the activity of importing and exporting animal feed - nutritional supplements, importing and exporting animal feed - manufactured animal feed, and importing and exporting animal feed - feed additives, or a veterinary facility license that contains the activity of a veterinary drug store, or livestock farm license
  2. The product to be imported must be approved by the Ministry for the company

To import pet animal food:

  1. The establishment must have a license to practice an animal activity that contains the activity of importing and exporting animal feed - pet animal food, or a veterinary facility license that contains the activity of a veterinary drug store.
  2.  The product to be imported must be approved by the Ministry

To import animal food that is not included in the food chain:

  1. The establishment must have a license to practice an animal activity that contains the activity of a zoo, an aquarium, a falcon breeding center, a deer and wildlife breeding center, an ostrich breeding center, a pet breeding center, a center for the care and shelter of dangerous animals, or the import and export of animal feed.
  2. The product to be imported must be approved by the Ministry

For the import of processed aquatic food:

  1. The establishment must have a license to practice an animal activity that contains the activity of importing and exporting animal feed - processed aquaculture foods or a license to establish an aquaculture production farm.
  2. The product to be imported must be approved by the Ministry

For importing unprocessed aquatic food:

  1. The establishment must have a license to practice an animal activity that contains the activity of importing and exporting animal feed - unprocessed aquatic food.
  2. The product to be imported must be approved by the Ministry

To import food and nutritional supplements for honey bees:

  1. The establishment must have a license to practice an agricultural activity that contains the activity of importing and exporting bees, a license to practice an animal activity that contains the activity of importing and exporting animal feed, or a license for a veterinary facility that contains a veterinary drug store activity.
  2. The product to be imported must be approved by the Ministry
