Export or re-export of a species listed in CITES Appendices

About the Service

This service enables individuals and companies to apply for the Export/Re-export CITES certificate for live animal and plant species and their derivatives that listed in CITES Convention Appendices. The validity of certificate is six months from the date of issuance.


Service Process

  1. Fill out the electronic form
  2. E - payment
  3.  Review the application and complete the procedures electronically
  4. Issuing the certificate electronically

Required Documents

For Export or Re-Export species or derivatives or products listed in Appendix I:

  1. CITES import certificate from the importing country or preliminary approval to receive the species or products.
  2. Certificate of ownership of species listed in CITES Appendices (for the species bred in the UAE, with no documents or imported from outside of UAE before 2018) Or CITES Release Certificate (for species imported from outside of the UAE after 2018).

For Export or Re-Export species or derivatives or products listed in Appendix II or III:

  1. Certificate of ownership of species listed in CITES Appendices (for the species bred in the UAE, with no documents or imported from outside of UAE before 2018) Or CITES Release Certificate (for species imported from outside of the UAE after 2018).

Conditions & Requirements

The customer shall comply with the provisions of Law No. 11 of 2002 on the regulation of international trade in Endangered species of Fauna and Flora.

  1. CITES Certificate includes a maximum four species.
  2. The type to be exported or re-exported must be in the customer's account in the Ministry's electronic system.
  3. Certificates are issued for one shipment only.
  4. Ensure that the importing country does not have a trade ban on the CITES website.
  5. All consignments shall be exit through the approved border ports in the UAE and must be obtained an agricultural or veterinary health certificate before export or re-export.
