The Ministry of Environment & Water ( MOEW) continues campaigns to immunize animals against epidemic & infectious diseases within the framework of interest to develop and protect livestock in its capacity as a source of food security.

Hence, MOEW has immunized 153.390 animals during December 2010 thus the total number of the immunized sheep; goat & cows amounted to 622.046 animals.

The annual immunization campaigns carried by MOEW aim at minimizing the number of infectious cases among animals such as Anaerobes, Al pastrilla, Smallpox, Pneumonia crystal disease in goats Foot & mouth disease and PPR through increasing animals immunity, reduce depending on therapeutic drugs and the eradication of dangers diseases in the long run.
MOEW, however, endeavors to implement the general policy of the UAE Government to develop the strategy to maintain livestock and improve man and animal health to ensure the bio - security and food.

The ministry within it's concerned to raising the awareness among farmers and animal breeders strikes to organize these continuous campaigns to educate them on methods of animal care which include isolation of diseased animals than that which was proved free from infectious diseases for the purpose of prevention from diseases which may threaten the livestock.

MOEW calls all the concerned parties as well as farmers and animal raisers to cooperate with the ministry in this aspect especially that the ministry has made available the necessary antibiotics, disinfectants, inner and outer anti parasites and anti inflammation drugs.
